What is it, where is it and how is it stimulated?
The Gräfenberg spot, better known as the G-spot for women, is a small area of the female genital area located between the back of the pubic bone and the cervix. It is important to point out that it is an area, not just a specific point, even though that is its name.
Despite the mystery that surrounds it, finding the G-spot is not as difficult as you think. It is located 3-5 cm from the vaginal orifice or entrance, it corresponds to the first third of the vaginal canal, which is the most sensitive, and is located on the anterior face of the vagina. The normal thing is that you notice that the epithelium is different in that area, with more texture or rougher, the more arousal the woman feels, the more this protuberance will swell and it will be easier to locate the area.
The G-spot is part of the clitoris, the main organ of sexual pleasure. It is necessary to clarify that the clitoris is not only the button of the vulva, that is only the tip of the iceberg of this sexual organ that extends inside the body.
We can imagine the entire clitoris as if it were embracing the vaginal canal with a kind of “extremities”, these are the ones that can be touched through vaginal penetration with fingers, with the penis or with toys.
The second reason this area is so pleasurable is because an area on the front wall of the vagina has been found to have many more nerve endings and blood vessels than the rest of the vagina. Therefore it is much more sensitive and reacts quickly to excitement so we can notice how it swells.
Finally, the G-spot provides so much pleasure also because it is close to the urethra and, more specifically, an area called the urethral sponge that contains two small ducts that are better known as Skene's glands, those responsible for female ejaculation.
The latter explains why when the G-spot is stimulated, the woman ejaculates in a much more fluid way and with much more quantity. This ejaculation is related to "squirting" although what we know of this fact is highly mythologized. The woman does not have to expel as much liquid as is believed, it will depend on each woman and each moment.
There are women who, when they have not yet explored their G-zone and begin to do so, relate the excitement of this part with the desire to urinate, this is explained by its proximity to the urethra, but it is only its sensation. For these moments, the best thing is that the woman has the confidence to communicate it to her sexual partner, then she can relax and let herself go to experience this pleasure.
Internal stimulation of the G-spot through the front wall of the vagina promotes a more powerful and satisfying orgasm than is normally experienced by women in regular sexual intercourse.
What lies beyond the G-spot?
Although the G-spot was popularized in the 1980s, it has been discovered that it is not exactly a point, but rather an area. This helps to better understand the physiognomy of women and facilitates the process of finding this area.
But today we know that there are three other erogenous zones on the vulva: the K, U and A points.
The K-spot, or Keesling point, is one of the most intense pleasure points that can lead a woman to experience incredible multiple orgasms. Point K is a great unknown to many people due to its complex location. Being in an area that is difficult to access, the chances of successfully stimulating him during penetration are limited. The K point is located at the end of the vagina, near the cervix, on the back wall.
Point A is also located about 7 cm at the vaginal entrance near the cervix, closer to the anterior wall, the opposite side of point K, which is also difficult to reach for stimulation.
Finally, the U-spot is one of the most neglected pleasure points of female sexuality. It has this name because it is very close to the urethra, and because it is shaped like an upside down U. This point is easier to find than the two discussed above. It is located between the clitoris and the urethra, just above the vaginal entrance, its sensitivity is due to the fact that it is covering the urethral glands, an erectile tissue better known as the Skene glands.
The best positions to stimulate the G-spot
There are certain positions that are considered the best for stimulating the G-spot. Try positions that allow you to have a little more control over your movements so you can determine what types of stimulation you enjoy the most.
The wheelbarrow: The woman leans on her side on her forearms and knees. The man on his knees grabs his partner by the pelvis and straddles him, leading the movement while lifting one of her legs.
The V: The man lies on his back and the woman stands on top of him. There, the woman has more control over the movements and can experiment with depth, angle and rhythm to explore her G-spot. She can try moving back and forth, twisting and other combinations, stimulating the inner vaginal wall to find the G-spot.
Closed Missionary Position: The woman is the one who lies on her back in the classic missionary position and then closes her legs, while her partner straddles her and squeezes her with his legs. This allows for intense stimulation with deep penetration and also increases the level of stimulation at the G-spot to increase the chance of orgasm.
